Human Resources Generalist

Job Summary
The Human Resource Generalist must know, practice, and implement Company policies and procedures as well as applicable local, state, federal and employment laws.  This position is considered a vital link between management and the employees and must foster a positive, healthy, and enthusiastic work environment free of inappropriate behavior.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain workplace safety conditions.  Monitor the investigation of serious workplace accidents and injuries and work with worker's compensation carrier to administer appropriate benefits to injured employees.
  • Assist in safety awareness education
  • Develop training programs and train in sexual harassment, ergonomics, diversity, motivation, team work, problem solving, leadership, communication, etc..
  • Handles hiring & provides new employee orientation and training of employees on Company policies and procedures
  • Assist management in planning and implementing staffing and scheduling, and monitoring overall changes in headcount.
  • Administer payroll, vacation, attendance, compensation and benefits
  • Implement and monitor the performance appraisal program.
  • Administer the Company's Standards of Conduct & Corrective Action Policy to ensure that it is being executed in a fair and equitable manner.
  • Develop sources of readily available qualified candidates for permanent and temporary positions.
  • Maintain employee personnel files.
  • Prepares reports and recommends procedures to reduce absenteeism and turnover.
  • Oversee and conduct internal investigations of allegations of employee misconduct.
  • Handle employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling, and exit interviews.
  • Directs preparation of accounting records including budget of human resources operations.   Recommends budgets to management.
  • Promote local employee community involvement, newsletters, and company/employee outings and social activities.
  • Seek and secure state and federal grants for training programs.
  • Conducts wage survey within labor market to determine competitive wage rate.
  • Strengthen internal communications with and between employees and management through meetings, written communications, and activities, etc. to ensure superior knowledge and understanding of company objectives, plans, and results. 

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with at least 2 years of HR experience, preferably in a multi-site and/or multi-state organization.  Must have knowledge of principles and practices of HR administration, policies and procedures, and employment law.  Experience with MS Office, payroll and timekeeping systems is also required.

Ongoing - Duties include managing accounts, increasing customer production, settling customer service issues & maintaining database. Computer skills & phone experience required. Sales experience a plus. Competitive wages & benefits.

Inside Sales / Customer Service Agent
Ongoing - Phone sales and/or customer service experience required. Computer proficiency preferred. Ideal candidate is a self-motivated team player that works well under pressure, is detail orientated, and has a sense of humor. Duties include handling inbound/outbound calls, data entry, sales negotiations, and resolution of customer service issues.
