Honored at the Western New York Business First 40 Under 40 Award Banquet

Gregory Lorenzo, president of Lorenzo International Inc., was among those honored at the Western New York Business First 40 Under 40 Award Banquet held recently in Buffalo.

For the past 15 years, Business First has recognized 40 business leaders in western New York annually, all under 40 years old, for their professional success as well as their contribution and service to the community. This year, hundreds of applications were received by an independent six-member Business First selection committee. Lorenzo was the only Chautauqua County resident to receive the award this year. Lorenzo was selected for his leadership and business growth as well as his past and present service to the local community and beyond which has included active participation in Dunkirk Rotary community service initiatives, as well as executive board positions for the Northern Chautauqua Boys and Girls Club and the Chautauqua County Republican Committee.

He and his family have hosted foreign exchange students as well as provided a summer respite for a young child from an area of Belarus severely affected by the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. Lorenzo and his wife, Tracie, also sponsored a child through the Gift of Life program which provides life-saving surgery to children. "I know a number of past recipients of the 40 Under 40 award and I´m honored to join that select group of leaders," said Lorenzo.

Lorenzo International, Inc. Is a full-service transportation, warehousing and distribution company serving manufacturers and distributors across North America. Its corporate office is currently located in the city of Dunkirk where it has been for more than 10 years. Lorenzo has been in the transportation industry for nearly two decades, opening his first small office in Cheektowaga in the early 1990s. The company has grown from a handful of employees in a small office to nearly 100 employees working in Dunkirk, Sheridan and Falconer, Ridgeway, Va. and Eden and High Point, N.C. In addition, the services have expanded to include a fleet of 60 trucks and 115 trailers and three warehouses.

The company will soon be relocating its corporate office to its newly acquired facility in the Chadwick Bay Industrial Park in Sheridan.

"Our growth is a result of providing quality transportation services and expanding our service options for our customers for more than a decade," said Lorenzo. "We´ve built and maintained a reputation for solving transportation issues for our customers which has given us the credibility needed to secure larger corporate contracts while still being attentive to our smaller customers."
